The first-quarter winners of the 2025 London Design Awards have been officially announced, and Luen Mei Real Estate Group’s Yue Jing Yuan Mansion project in Shantou has claimed the prestigious Gold Award. Its Sky Lounge aesthetic model room has captured global attention, becoming a focal point within the international design community. This honor marks a milestone for Luen Mei Real Estate, signifying a cross-cultural design dialogue that has earned the brand one of the highest accolades in the global creative arena.
As a prestigious program under the International Awards Associate (IAA), the London Design Awards are judged by a distinguished panel of honored professionals, seasoned designers, and respected experts from diverse fields worldwide. Known for its rigorous evaluation criteria and cross-disciplinary perspective, the awards recognize exemplary works that redefine the discourse of contemporary design. Widely regarded as a bellwether in the design industry, this honor not only affirms the project’s exceptional design excellence but also resonates with the global appreciation for contemporary interpretations rooted in local cultural heritage.
Luen Mei Yue Jing Yuan Mansion in Shantou draws inspiration from hotel aesthetics, infusing geometric forms with the philosophical interplay of void and presence reminiscent of famous Chinese artist Wu Guanzhong’s brushwork. These elements are deconstructed and reimagined into a flowing scroll of mountains and waters, weaving a poetic ambiance steeped in Eastern artistry.
The project also elevates the millennia-old ritual of Chaozhou Gongfu tea into a spiritual centerpiece. At its heart is a standalone tea station, where the gentle texture of the jade tabletop harmonizes with nature, and the cool, porcelain-white luster of traditional teaware dances elegantly in shifting light — offering a serene, immersive reflection of cultural ritual through contemporary design.
